1. Fair Trade and Competition Law
Corporate investment, merger, acquisition, marketing, advertising and sales channels all involve the fair trade and competition law. Our Managing Partner Dr. Tony J. H. Lu used to serve as a commissioner of the Fair Trade Commission. Dr. Lu has abundant experiences in handling the fair trade and competition law cases.
2. Intellectual Property Rights
Our firm has handled many cases related with the copyright law, the trademark law, the patent law and trade secrets. Weli Law Office has published several books on the copyright law. We also represent many publishers, singers, actors, actresses, computer companies and semiconductor companies as their legal counsel.
3. Labor Relationship
We have started handling labor law cases since 1985 and are one of the best in this field. The books “The Practice of the Labor Standard Law, Vol.Ⅰ、Ⅱ & Ⅲ” written by Dr. Lu have been published over 15 editions. We have enjoyed good reputation as one of the best in the labor law field for a long time.
4. China Law Practice
Since 1988, our firm has formed a China Law Practice Team. We have handled many cases on cross-strait investment and trade. Our services on China practice include drafting joint venture agreements, negotiations, real estate services, labor law consultation, intellectual property rights, succession, litigation and arbitration etc.
Each year, in average, our attorneys give speeches on China investment or trade in at least 30 occasions. Since 1988, we have given speeches in more than 250 occasions. We were also authorized by the Taiwanese Government to draft “The Cross-strait Relationship Act” and to conduct research on the organization and the function of the cross-strait intermediary group such as the Strait Exchange Foundation. The Bar Association also authorized us to host a seminar on “The Protection of Taiwanese Rights in the Mainland Area”. We have enjoyed good reputation in this field cross the strait.
5. Construction Law
We have handled many arbitration on construction law cases. We are good at dealing with construction disputes and drafting construction agreements.
6. Foreign Investment
Our services will include providing multinational corporations with legal services on their investment in Taiwan. We will assist multinational corporations to set up joint venture companies, subsidiaries, branches or representative office in Taiwan. We will also assist the expatriates of the multinational corporations to apply for approval for their employment and their Alien Resident Certificates.
7. Translation of Foreign Legal Documents
We will provide translation services of foreign legal documents in various languages.
8. Civil and Criminal Litigation
We have also handled many civil and criminal litigation cases and have maintained a good record in these areas.
